Muslims in the Military
Speaker:  David Washburn, Maker and Director of the Documentary
Abstract:  Loyalty is a new documentary film about Muslims the in U.S. armed forces who are fighting for equality, respect and interfaith cooperation. A clip from the film will be shown as part of this short introductory presentation. The Director, David Washburn, created the documentary "An American Mosque" that summarized the arson of the Yuba City Masjid which was shown on PBS and throughout various Masajids all across the USA.  
 
Road to Success for Students
Speaker:  Shahryar Abbasi and Sadia Saifuddin, Founders of the Success Company. First-generation Muslim Americans and UC Berkeley graduates that have worked with hundreds of families to help them build healthy habits, change their lives and get their students into the best universities in the world. 
Abstract: Proven strategies to help your child build world class habits, become motivated and confident individuals, and get into their dream university. Middle school and high school can be a stressful time, especially if you are navigating the college application process for the first time. What are the secret habits, behaviors, and strategies of the most successful students? What does it take to be a competitive college applicant? How can you train your student to hit the ground running? Join us for answers to all of those questions and more. We will share proven strategies and tools to help your student reach their goals, become motivated and confident individuals, and get into their dream university. Who? Parents of students in K-12, as well as students in K-12. 
 
Please attend this monthly SBIA Family Night program with your friends and family. No tickets needed, although donations are welcome. Join us to have dinner and socialize with other community members. The SBIA Family Night program is held on the first Friday evening of the month, so please mark your calendar and attend regularly.
