TOPIC: How Muslim Culture Has Influenced America for the Better – From the Time of Columbus to the Present Day

Speaker’s Bio: Author of “Al’ America: Travels Through America’s Arab and Islamic Roots,” which won a 2008 American Book Award, Research fellow at Oxford 2005-2006, Fulbright Scholar at Punjab University in Pakistan 1993094, Staff writer at San Francisco Chronicle for 20 years, Wrote for Wall Street Journal, Columbia Journalism Review LA Times.
Abstract: The talk will explain how Muslim culture has had a positive influence on America for more than 500 years. Everything from Islamic architecture to the Arabic language, Arab music to food and drink from Muslim lands, has impacted America for the better, starting with this country’s beginnings with Christopher Columbus in 1492. The influence continues to today.
