Shaykh Akram Nadwi, author of Al-Muhaddithat: The Women Scholars in Islam, a 53-volume biographical dictionary of female scholars of hadith, is a Muhaddith of the highest caliber who has specialized in Ilm ul Rijal, the study of the narra- tors of Hadith. He has Ijaza (licenses) from over 600 scholars, many of them the most renowned scholars of our time. Shaykh Akram Nadwi has a doctorate in Arabic Language and has authored and translated over 25 titles on language, fiqh, Qur’an and hadith.
