‘Ashura Program

InshaAllah, the 1st of Muharram 1438 will fall on Monday, October 3, 2016. (There was no crescent sighted on the 1st of October so we will complete 30 days of DhulHijjah on October 2).
We wish the community a blessed new year 1438 and pray for peace and happiness for the ummah worldwide. Please remember us in your duas as we embark into the next Islamic year.
The 10th of Muharram (Yawm 'Ashura) will fall on Wednesday October 12. SBIA will have its annual 'Ashura program that evening at 2345 Harris Way.
It is highly recommended to fast on the 9th and 10th of Muharram (or the 10th and 11th in case one is not able to fast on the 9th).

Salat al Maghrib: 6:40 pm
Dinner/iftar: 7:00 pm
Salat al Isha: 8:00 pm

The South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) is one of the oldest Islamic Organizations in The Bay Area. Its headquarters are located in San Jose, CA. SBIA has been providing various services to the community since 1977 including the five daily prayers at two locations (San Jose Downtown, and Harris Way) and Friday prayers at both locations. SBIA has been active in spreading Islam through various Dawah programs and by hosting a number of activities including Weekend Islamic School, Quranic classes for children, Tafseer (English translation and Exegesis) classes for adults, conferences and community get-togethers.
