Elections for both the 9-member Board of Directors (BOD)

Elections for both the 9-member Board of Directors (BOD), which handles the day-to-day operations of SBIA, and the 5-member Board of Trustees (BOT), which deals with SBIA land and larger financial matters, are upcoming.  There are three vacancies on the BOD and two vacancies on the BOT.  Nominations for all vacancies are currently being accepted by The Election Committee and will continue to be so until Saturday, October 29.  Green Nomination forms are available at the Downtown Center, Evergreen Masjid, and Napredak Hall (Jummah Prayer only).  Please carefully read the instructions and eligibility requirements for each position, as certain qualifications must be met for a nomination to be accepted.

sbia The South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) is one of the oldest Islamic Organizations in The Bay Area. Its headquarters are located in San Jose, CA. SBIA has been providing various services to the community since 1977 including the five daily prayers at two locations (San Jose Downtown, and Harris Way) and Friday prayers at both locations. SBIA has been active in spreading Islam through various Dawah programs and by hosting a number of activities including Weekend Islamic School, Quranic classes for children, Tafseer (English translation and Exegesis) classes for adults, conferences and community get-togethers.
