Tabling Applications & Policies

SBIA welcomes community organizations and groups to set up informational tables during Friday Jumu’ah and Taraweeh. To ensure a respectful, safe, and organized environment, all groups must comply with the following guidelines.
SBIA reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke any tabling request at its sole discretion.

Eligibility & Purpose
– Tabling must serve a Bay Area based educational or community-focused purpose, such as raising awareness or providing beneficial resources.
– Activities must offer a meaningful benefit to attendees or the broader community.
– Organizations fundraising for construction, or institutional promotion are not permitted.
– Groups raising funds for international causes are not allowed.
– The organization must be a recognized, credible group or individual with a clear and legitimate mission.

Alignment with SBIA Values
– All organizations, materials, and messaging must align with Islamic values and reflect a respectful, inclusive environment.
– Content must not be offensive, divisive, discriminatory, or inappropriate.

Political Activity & Nonprofit Compliance
– Tabling must remain strictly nonpartisan.
– The following are strictly prohibited:
– Endorsing or opposing political candidates, parties, or ballot initiatives
– Campaigning or political advocacy
– Distributing political statements
– Making or soliciting campaign contributions
– Any activity that may impact SBIA’s nonprofit status is not allowed

Fundraising Policy
– Fundraising is strictly prohibited.
– This includes:
– Asking for donations
– Displaying payment links or QR codes
– Using payment devices of any kind

Scheduling
– Tabling is permitted only during Jumu’ah and Taraweeh at designated times.
– Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours in advance.

Space & Setup Guidelines
– Tabling is limited to designated areas only:
– Upstairs, outside the prayer hall
– No tables permitted in the main downstairs lobby
– Do not leave materials on bulletin boards, walls, or other surfaces without prior approval.

Announcements
SBIA will make an announcement after Jumu’ah informing attendees of your table.
Tabling groups are not permitted to make announcements themselves.
